North West Castle offers all of it's visitors and guests a comfortable and convenient three star town centre hotel accommodation experience in Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway in the South West of Scotland. A family owned and run hotel for more than fifty years, ‘The Castle’ itself, was formerly the home of Sir John Ross, who was once a famous Arctic explorer, who was instrumental in the discovery of the ice bound trading route which is now known around the world as the ‘North West Passage’.

North West Castle is situated on the edge of Stranraer town centre. Many rooms have views over Loch Ryan. Corporate and incentive residents can enjoy full use of the health club facilities. Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the hotel and there is a large free car park. North West Castle is just 10 minutes’ drive from the ferry terminals at Cairnryan – there are regular daily sailings to and from Northern Ireland. You can easily take a day trip or stay longer. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just 2 hours’ drive from North West Castle. There is a bus stop across the road from the hotel and the train station is just 5 minutes’ walk from North West Castle.
