In Peak Performance Online, remote teams must manage resources and monitor conditions as they organise a journey to the summit of Mount Everest. Due to the complexity of the game and the number of variables, individual team members must take on separate roles to acquire knowledge, effectively communicate their information to the group, and complete physical challenges.
Teams must decide their avatar's best move together before inputting decisions via an online portal. Successful teams will need to take on board the game mechanics, set a realistic shared vision, and work collaboratively as a team to overcome the ever-changing conditions on the mountain.
They must apply an agile strategy and skilfully make quick decisions as a team to maximise opportunities to their advantage. At the end of their challenge, the team with the highest number of points, or most optimal decision-making, is declared the winner.
Following the experience, participants are guided in reflective observation to identify what occurred during the exercise, what decisions they made, and the consequences of those decisions. When paralleled with real-life business circumstances, participants are better able to make effective behavioural changes by understanding and accepting the implications of their choices.
